Deux Femmes, is a 1992 Algerian movie, directed by Amar Tribeche, and starring Athmane Ariouet, Bahia Rachedi. Areski Nebti.
Deux Femmes is an Algerian social satire series that takes an acerbic look at polygamy and its domestic fallout. When Boujemaa takes a second wife despite the fact that his first wife is ill and has borne him two children, the new arrangement forces all parties to live under the same roof. The second wife quickly moves to assert her authority in the household, turning the family's once-settled life upside down. As tensions escalate between the wives, the children, and Boujemaa himself, the series uses dark humor and sharp social observation to expose the contradictions and injustices embedded in polygamous family life in Algerian society. A satirical and unflinching domestic drama.
