Ayla Ki Nass, is a 1990 Algerian movie, directed by Amar Tribeche, and starring Athmane Ariouet, Fatiha Berber. Mourad Chaâbane.
Ayla Ki Nass is an Algerian satirical comedy film that follows a modest family navigating the everyday dreams and frustrations of ordinary Algerian life. The mother's obsession with buying a car sets off a household standoff when the father refuses outright — prompting her to go on a strike of silence and fasting until he relents. Once the car is purchased, the adventure begins: it breaks down repeatedly on the road, and the helpful neighbor who fixes it each time is motivated less by goodwill than by his love for the family's daughter, a subplot that draws the ire of his own mother. Warm, funny, and socially perceptive, the film is a portrait of middle-class aspirations, family solidarity, and the small negotiations that hold a household together.
