Al-Barouni, is a 2020 Libyan movie, directed by Osama Rezg, and starring Rabie Kati, Nidal Kahloul, Abdul Hamid Altaib. with a runtime of 146 minutes.
Al-Barouni is a Libyan biographical drama chronicling the remarkable life of freedom fighter Suleiman Pasha Al-Barouni, known as "The Leader," born in 1870 in the Nafusa Mountains of Libya. A rare figure who united scholarship, religion, poetry, and political activism, Al-Barouni became one of Libya's most celebrated resistance leaders in the struggle against Italian colonial occupation. The film traces his pivotal role in co-founding the Tripolitan Republic in 1918 — the first Arab republic in history — and the heavy price he paid for his convictions, ultimately dying in exile in Muscat, Oman, in 1940. An epic portrait of patriotism, sacrifice, and the enduring fight for sovereignty.
