Welcome, Beys is an Egyptian comedy and science-fiction film that sends two very different friends on an unexpected journey through time. History professor Mahmoud is troubled after reading a book prophesying a bleak future dominated by monopolies and economic inequality. His friend Burhan, a celebrated international scientist, is his polar opposite — a self-serving opportunist focused solely on his own interests and public image. Their contrasting worldviews are put to the ultimate test when both men suddenly find themselves transported back to the era of the Mamluks. The film uses its time-travel premise to deliver comic commentary on power, greed, and what it means to truly serve one's society.
