Overview

Who Is Like Abu Riad? is a Lebanese comedy-adventure film following Abu Riad, a battle-hardened veteran of the 1967 war. When an Egyptian friend tips him off about a buried treasure hidden somewhere in Lebanon, the old fighter sets off on an unexpectedly wild treasure hunt, accompanied by his bumbling companion Abbas. What begins as a trip to attend a funeral quickly snowballs into a full-blown quest mixing nostalgia, slapstick, and the kind of earnest optimism only a war veteran chasing buried gold could muster. The film offers a light-hearted, warmly comic take on Lebanese character and resilience.
