Mona Abd El Ghani

Egyptian singer, actress and presenter. She graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts. Her artistic beginning was after she joined with the Mu'tazilite singer Hanan and the singer Alaa Abdel Khaleq in the early 1980s with the musician Ammar Al-Shari'i to form the Friends group, which released two cassette tapes. However, the group then disbanded and each one of them went on their own until she released the tape "Ashab", which Hamid Al-Shaeri distributed and composed for her some of the songs on this tape, which made her famous beyond all singers at that time. She released a number of artistic albums, and at the same time she acted in many works in cinema, television and theatre. In 2001, her brother died in a car accident, so she retired from art in grief and wore the hijab, but she returned again in 2003 by presenting social programs and participating in acting in some works.
