An Egyptian actress, whose real name is (Laila Hilal Yassin), she was born in the city of Ismailia in 1938. She began her artistic career in 1954 when she participated in the film (Ahd Al-Hawa) with the artist Farid Al-Atrash, and after that she starred in several films until the early sixties, including: (Under the City Skies, Melody of Happiness, Teach Me Love, Days and Nights). She retired from art in 1962 after marrying a German engineer, and settled with him in Austria. She was married briefly to Fouad Al-Atrash, brother of Farid Al-Atrash, and lived with him for years, then they separated. She was honored at the Cairo Film Festival in 2002
