An Egyptian actor, born in 1938. He immigrated to Brazil in 1973. One of the members of the Theater Lights Trio, he presented a number of the most famous tragedies on the university stage, including “Othello” and “Macbeth.” Due to his tangible talent, he quickly assumed the presidency of the “Samar” theatrical troupe at Ain Shams University, a troupe that led him to meet his companion, the artist Samir Ghanem, who was the head of the “Samar” theatrical troupe at the University of Alexandria. At that time, both of them felt that there was a common bond that united them, which was their love for theater and their enjoyment of public acceptance, so they decided to cooperate together in presenting works for university theatre, and they presented plays by major Egyptian writers, including Salah Abdel Sabour and Naguib Sorour. After graduating in 1961, George joined a government job while maintaining his relationship with the world of acting. The first meeting the audience knew about George Sidhom was through the “With the People” program, which he presented in collaboration with Samir Ghanem and Adel Nassif. They were soon caught by the eye of director Mohamed Salem, who offered them work in the “Stage Lights” program. They presented comedy sketches written by Hassan Al-Sayed and composed by musician Mohamed Al-Moji, through their famous band. “The Stage Lights Trio,” which people felt presented a different art. However, Adel Nassif left the band after one month, so George and Samir began the search for the third member as a replacement for Adel. As if fate knew how talented George and Samir were and that they needed a third member to support their band, it sent them the late artist Al-Deif Ahmed. The band achieved great progress in the comedy scene in Egypt and achieved great fame after presenting many sketches, including “Koto Moto” and “Dr.. Al-Haqni.” He died in the year 2000.
