A Day for Women is an Egyptian social drama that tenderly explores the inner lives of women in a working-class neighborhood. The opening of a new swimming pool — with Sundays reserved exclusively for women — becomes the catalyst that brings together a group of women from vastly different social backgrounds. Azza dreams of wearing a swimsuit for the first time, Shamiya finally finds someone to listen to her private stories, and Layla seeks solace for the grief of losing her son. Meanwhile, young men attempt to spy on this women-only world. A warm, humanistic portrait of Egyptian women's resilience, longings, and solidarity.
يوم للستات، هو فيلم درامي-مصري، من إخراج كاملة أبو ذكري وتأليف هناء عطية. الفيلم من بطولة إلهام شاهين وفاروق الفيشاوي ومحمود حميدة وهالة صدقي. عُرٍضَ الفيلم لأول مرة بتاريخ 16 أكتوبر 2016 في مهرجان لندن السينمائي. يعد الفيلم رقم 100 في مسيرة الفنانة إلهام شاهين. وهو التعاون الثاني بين إلهام شاهين والكاتبة هناء عطية بعد فيلم «خلطة فوزية». وهو أيضاً ثاني تعاون سينمائي على التوالي بين إلهام شاهين والمخرجة كاملة أبو ذكري بعد فيلم «واحد/صفر». وإستغرق العمل على الفيلم قرابة 6 سنوات.
