Overview

Ya Ana Ya Khalti — Me or My Aunt — is an Egyptian romantic comedy film following Timur, a music conservatory student deeply in love with his classmate Nawal and determined to marry her. The obstacle standing between him and his future is Nawal's superstitious mother, who relies entirely on witchcraft and fortune-telling to guide her decisions and will not bless any marriage without the approval of her trusted sorceress. Undeterred, Timur devises an outrageous plan: disguise himself behind a prosthetic mask and impersonate a witch named 'Aunt Nousa' to win the mother's trust. A charming comedy of mistaken identity built around the lengths a man in love will go to win over a difficult future mother-in-law.
