Overview
One + One is an Egyptian social drama about a young woman whose secret love affair results in an unwanted pregnancy. Her partner continually stalls on formally approaching her father, leaving her trapped in a precarious situation. In an act of calculated desperation, she manipulates another young man who loves her, engineering a confession to her father about a past illicit relationship — hoping to force her hand in marriage. The film is a frank examination of social pressure, honor, and the desperate maneuvers women resort to in unforgiving circumstances.
