Overview

Tarabish is a Syrian social comedy series written, directed, produced by, and starring Syrian artist Talhat Hamdi. Completed in 1992, the series was held back due to creative and production disagreements before eventually being distributed out of Qatar and broadcast on several Arab television channels. The story centers on a poor man who sets out to accumulate wealth by investing and managing money — only for his ambitions to unravel completely, leaving him bankrupt. A character-driven comedy with a sharp social edge, Tarabish explores the gap between aspiration and reality through the trials of its relatable protagonist.
