Demons of the Friday Night is a Kuwaiti satirical stage play written by Saqr Al-Rashoud and Abdul Aziz Al-Sorayai, produced in 1973 by the Arab Gulf Theater. Structured as a series of critical vignettes, the play takes sharp aim at a range of social and political shortcomings in Kuwaiti society: government bureaucracy, favoritism in public employment, the contradiction between laws banning alcohol and the realities of hotel culture, the mechanics of National Assembly elections, Kuwait's political stance on Arab and international affairs, and the failings of the local press.
