Canidae, is a 1976 Kuwaiti play, directed by Saqer Al-Rashoud, and starring Khalid Al-Obaid, Mansour Al-Mansour. Mohamed Al-Saree.
Canidae is an Algerian social comedy play presented in three independent acts, each shining a sardonic light on a different facet of contemporary urban life. In the first act, "Destructive," a brother schemes to seize his sibling's crumbling house after learning it is slated for an official property valuation. The second act, "Under the Girdle," follows a ruthless building owner who keeps hiking rents to levels his long-suffering tenants can no longer afford. The third act, "Crazy Soso," portrays an obstinate, cantankerous man whose difficult nature creates chaos for everyone around him. Together, the three vignettes form a sharp comic portrait of greed, exploitation, and the everyday tensions of Algerian society.
