The Rooster is Lost is a Kuwaiti social comedy play about Youssef, a young man born of a brief marriage between his Kuwaiti father and an Indian mother who was left behind and later emigrated to England with her child during wartime. Growing up between two worlds, Youssef reaches adulthood and seeks out his father in Kuwait, triggering a series of comical clashes rooted in the sharp cultural contrasts between his English upbringing and the Kuwaiti family and society he is meeting for the first time.
