Overview
Something Is Burning is a Syrian drama series that examines the human cost of the 1967 defeat through one displaced family's struggle. Forced from their home in the Golan Heights, Abu Ramzi and his wife scrape by on meager earnings — she with her sewing machine, he with weary determination. Their son Ramzi, however, rejects his father's patient, halal path and chases fast money by whatever means available. The generational clash at the heart of the story mirrors the wider disorientation of a society uprooted overnight, asking what a man holds onto when everything he knew is gone.
