Shari Al-Sadd is an Egyptian popular drama set in the bustling Al-Sadd Street of Cairo's historic Sayyida Zeinab district. Abu Al-Maati, a street vendor who migrated from the countryside in search of a better life, has carved out a modest existence and taken the orphan girl Altaf under his wing. His precarious stability is threatened when the men of the powerful Muallem Ashour set their sights on him, pressuring him to become a driver in their food supply smuggling operation. Refusing to be crushed, Abu Al-Maati plays along while secretly maneuvering to turn the situation to his advantage, ultimately seizing the goods for himself.
