The City's Lost Souls, is a 1974 Egyptian movie, directed by Hossam El Dine Mostafa, and starring Nadia Lotfi, Mahmoud Yassin, Nelly. with a runtime of 100 minutes.
The City's Lost Souls is an Egyptian social thriller that descends into the underbelly of a society where power and poverty make for dangerous combinations. Abdullah, a judge, uses court guard Farghali to procure a maid — and Farghali leads him to Shohrat, a desperately poor woman weighed down by a drug-addicted husband and hungry children. Shohrat enters the judge's household and agrees to a transactional relationship in exchange for money, but when the judge refuses to pay her, she walks out. His subsequent obsession and frantic search for her across the city becomes the film's driving tension — a grim portrait of exploitation, class disparity, and the way men in authority weaponize the vulnerability of those with nothing to lose.
