Khiam 2000-2007, is a 2007 Lebanese movie, directed by Khalil Joreige and Joana Hadjithomas. with a runtime of 103 minutes.
Khiam 2000-2007 is a Lebanese documentary in two parts chronicling the infamous Khiam detention camp across two distinct historical moments. The first part, filmed in 1999 and completed in 2000, was made under Israeli occupation when access to the camp — controlled by Israel's proxy militia, the South Lebanon Army — was impossible; it captures the camp's existence from a distance. The second part, filmed in 2007, revisits Khiam after it was transformed into a memorial museum following South Lebanon's liberation in 2000, only to be completely destroyed during Israel's war on Lebanon in July 2006. A vital historical record of resistance, occupation, and collective memory.
