Zahra, is a 2009 Palestinian movie, directed by Mohammad Bakri. with a runtime of 63 minutes.
Zahra is a compelling Palestinian documentary that traces the turbulent history of Palestine through the personal memories and perspective of Zahra, a woman from the village of al-Bane in the Galilee. The film begins with her childhood in the years before the 1948 war and moves through a series of defining historical moments: the violent establishment of Israel, the suffocating years of martial law between 1948 and 1966, and the painful transformation of Palestinian society from a settled majority to a disenfranchised minority on its own land. Intimate in scale but sweeping in scope, Zahra gives a human face to one of the defining stories of the twentieth century.
