Unofficial Marriage is an Egyptian drama series that tackles the contentious social issue of customary marriage and its devastating impact on women's rights. Businessman Adham secretly enters into a customary marriage with his servant Suhair, but when his official wife discovers the truth, he denies everything and abandons Suhair — even as she carries his child. He conceals the marriage contract with the help of his driver Riyad. After giving birth, Suhair takes Adham to court to claim her rights and those of her child, assisted by lawyer Munir, the husband of her neighbor Sanaa. The case grows dangerously complicated when the driver — the only witness who can confirm the contract — suddenly dies, leaving the pursuit of justice hanging in the balance.
