The Ring Seller, is a 1965 Lebanese play, directed by Youssef Chahine, and starring Fairuz, Nasri Shamseddine, Joseph Azar. with a runtime of 91 minutes.
The Ring Seller is a Lebanese comedy set in a peaceful village whose residents are bored with their uneventful lives. The mayor, hoping to inject some excitement, invents a fearsome fictional outlaw named Rajeh and spins increasingly dramatic tales of his crimes. Two clever young men see through the ruse and decide to exploit the myth for personal gain — robbing neighbors and assaulting the mayor under Rajeh's invented name. The plan unravels when an elderly stranger actually named Rajeh arrives in the village, sending everyone into a panic. He turns out to be nothing more than a wedding ring seller seeking a match for his son. The imposters end up behind bars, undone by the very joke they exploited. A sharp comic fable about deception, community, and poetic justice.
