Lulu is an Egyptian drama that turns the classic revenge narrative on its head. Wrongly convicted of murder, Lulu spent fifteen years behind bars before being exonerated. When Jerji, a local shoe polisher, broadcasts her return, the community that once condemned her is seized by dread. The film examines collective guilt and the strange justice of fear, as those who bore false witness find themselves living under the shadow of a woman who simply returned home.
