Overview

Borj Roumi is a Tunisian drama set in the 1970s that explores the moral cost of political conviction. When a communist-leaning movement is outlawed by the state, its activists are imprisoned and given a stark choice: apologize to the president or remain behind bars. United in their defiance, the detainees hold firm — until one of them breaks ranks. The film examines the tension between idealism and survival, solidarity and self-preservation, making it a compelling portrait of dissent under authoritarian rule.
