Awlad Al-Shawari is an Egyptian social drama film that examines the painful reality of street children through the dual lens of human drama and academic inquiry. A final-year student at the American University chooses the tragedy of street children as the subject of his graduation project, and his encounter with a homeless girl opens a door into a world he had only studied from a distance. Growing closer to these children and their daily struggles, he begins to understand the complex social and familial breakdowns that push them toward the margins of society. A sensitively crafted film that balances empathy with social analysis.
