The Odyssey, is a 2004 Tunisian movie, directed by Brahim Babaï, and starring Raouf Ben Amor, Jamel Madani. Ezzedine Gannoun.
The Odyssey is a pioneering Tunisian thriller series produced between 2001 and 2004, adapted from author Abdelaziz Belkhodja's novel The Ashes of Carthage. Considered Tunisia's first entry in the thriller genre, the series offers a critical examination of transnational trafficking in art and cultural heritage. The plot centres on an international criminal gang that targets the statue of the legendary Carthaginian commander Hannibal, plotting to steal and smuggle it aboard the Carthage ship to a European country. The series blends action and intrigue with a sharp commentary on the black market trade in antiquities and the vulnerability of North Africa's cultural patrimony.
