Overview

The Apple and the Skull is an Egyptian comedy-adventure film that strands five survivors of a shipwreck on a secluded island far from civilization. The unlikely group includes Engineer Ahmed, played by Hassan Youssef, famous actress Zaza, played by Iman, a mysterious foreign youth, and wealthy merchant Haj Tolba, played by Anwar Ismail, along with his hapless assistant Karshah, played by Ibrahim Nasr. Tensions and comic misunderstandings arise as the island forces these vastly different personalities to coexist. Haj Tolba offers Ahmed a generous check in exchange for building a boat to carry them to safety, setting off a chain of schemes and revelations among the castaways.
