Overview

Terrible Hours is an Egyptian drama that charts the moral collapse of a young man named Hamdi after his father is imprisoned for drug trafficking and the family's assets are seized. Stripped of everything, Hamdi loses his fiancée Amany, who abandons him for his former classmate Ramzy, and he turns to crime, forming a car-theft ring. Meanwhile, Amany's ambitions lead her to conspire with their company director to pressure the upright Ramzy into accepting a bribe from a contractor seeking to conceal construction violations. The film weaves together two parallel descents — one into street crime, the other into white-collar corruption — painting a bleak portrait of how poverty and greed corrode personal integrity.
