Overview

The White Flag is an Egyptian drama series based on a true story, set in Alexandria and centred on a relentless power struggle between two formidable personalities. On one side stands Fadda Al-Maadawi, a wealthy and domineering merchant who wields considerable influence in the city's fish market; on the other is Dr. Moufid Abu Al-Ghar, a retired ambassador living in a historic palace he inherited from his family. Fadda deploys every tool of money, influence, and cunning at her disposal in a determined bid to seize the ancestral palace, while Dr. Moufid fights back to protect his home and legacy. The series explores themes of greed, social class, and institutional power, using the personal feud as a lens through which to examine life in Alexandria's complex social fabric.
