Overview
The Watchman is an Egyptian suspense drama that peels back the mask of a man entrusted with protecting his community. A night guard develops an obsessive attraction to a beautiful widow living in the neighborhood he patrols. When she rejects his marriage proposal, suspicion and jealousy set in. A burglary at her residence — resulting in the theft of a portrait painted for her by a neighbor — draws mounting tension, until a fire at the night guard's own home ultimately exposes his guilt and unravels the truth behind the crime.
