Overview

El Aar is an Egyptian drama that begins with a deception and ends with a reckoning. Haji Abdul Sattar has long maintained the image of a respectable patriarch — but behind closed doors, he runs a drug trafficking operation, with his eldest son as a silent partner. When Abdul Sattar dies suddenly, the truth is laid bare before the rest of his family. The revelation does not drive them to reject their inheritance — instead, shocked and desperate to protect their wealth, the sons decide to complete a pending drug deal rather than walk away from everything their father built. A dark portrait of how crime travels through generations, El Aar asks whether a family can ever fully escape the shame passed down to them.
