Hassan Niya is an Algerian social comedy following Hassan, an endlessly resourceful handyman working at the inn run by his widowed, childless sister Aïcha. Whether serving as driver, waiter, welder, or filling any other role demanded of him, Hassan's daily life is a string of comic incidents and misunderstandings. Through it all, he clings stubbornly to his own code of values, refusing to bend to anything that conflicts with his personal sense of justice and how society ought to work. A warmhearted film about dignity, loyalty, and the ordinary man's resilience.
