He graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema, Department of Directing, in 1976 He began his career by writing, directing, and producing the documentary film (Here Is Cairo) while he was still a third year student at the institute. After that, he directed many short feature films, such as: (A Visit) 1975, (The Birth of Light) 1976. After that, his documentary films followed, such as: (Urgent To Whom It May Concern) 1977, (Egypt in the Feelings of an Artist) 1980, (The Convergence) 1987, (Solo Play) 1922. He also directed many television evenings, such as: (The Deadly Bet) 1991, (A State of Marriage) 1993, and (The Moaning of Trees) 1994. He also has several television films, such as: (Love Detention Center) 2002, and (Love Moments) 2001.
