Egyptian actor, born November 2, 1923. He graduated from the Acting Institute in 1947 and was first in his class. He turned to the theater and presented several classic plays in the forties and fifties, the most famous of which were: “The Death of Cleopatra” with Kamal Yassin and Omar Hariri, “Antarah” with Samiha Ayoub and Hamdi Ghaith, until his first film for cinema was in 1953, which was “Between Two Hearts” in a small role with Kamal El-Shenawy and Shadia. Sarhan continued to perform several secondary roles until he got a relatively larger role with Saad Abdel Wahab and Magda in “Amani al-Omar” in 1955, after which he was interrupted for years until he returned in 1960 with a secondary role in almost two scenes in “My Beloved Ankle” with Rushdi Abaza and Naima Akef. His artistic works did not exceed fifteen, and despite that, the artist Salah Sarhan left a distinctive image of the movie villain, who tries to entangle the hero and heroine in order to win her. Forcibly, he succeeded in performing these roles to a degree that impressed critics with his mastery of evil, even though his features were not harsh, but his reliance was not on features but on style and embodiment brilliantly. With one role, he was able to consolidate his artistic success so far with the movie “The Black Candles” in 1962 with Saleh Slim and Najat Al-Saghira. As fate would have it, it would be the last role he would appear on the cinema screen, as he died two years later on April 21, 1964. Sarhan belongs to an artistic family, as he is the eldest brother of Sarhan’s children, Shukri and Sami
