Lotfy Abdel Hamid

An Egyptian actor, he was born in the city of Giza in 1932. After his family moved to Shubra, he joined some private amateur theatres, which later qualified him to work for radio. From radio, he began his cinematic career in 1951 with 4 films at once, namely: (Children of the Streets, Patience is Beautiful, Honor is Expensive, and I Sacrifice My Love). In the period from 1952 to 1960, Lotfy Abdel Hamid acted in 12 films that were among the distinctive features of his career, such as: (Antar Welbab, The Great Clown, Shams Don’t Set, and The People Below). He worked in many roles that did not stop in cinema only. He worked on television in (Raafat Al-Hagan 3, Night of Escape, Omar bin Abdul Aziz), and in his late days he worked with the artist Adel Imam in the films (Birds of Darkness) and (Sleeping in Honey). He died in 2002 at the age of 70.
