
A Lebanese singer and actress in Sidon, to a Syrian father and a Lebanese mother. She lived her childhood in Damascus and succeeded on Beirut Radio. She was discovered by the composer Mohamed Al-Nafaji, who married her, and then approved her as a singer on Lebanese Radio in 1946. She came from her country in the early fifties and became famous for performing the song “I am my heart to you, inclined,” composed by Mohamed Al-Muji. She was attracted to cinema in the fifties, then she turned to singing, where he composed a tune for her. Both Muhammad Abdel-Wahab and Muhammad Sultan, whom she married and had children with, and who died as a result of being afflicted with a malignant disease, from her songs “Yama Al-Qamar At Al-Bab,” “Hayran,” “Say, O Azul,” “Oh White Night,” “Wednesday’s Lover,” “A Message from a Woman,” “A Stranger, O Time,” “One Mistake,” and “You Leave Me with a Story.”
