An Egyptian actor of Syrian origins, his real name is (Elijah Mahdab Sassoon). He was born to a Syrian father from the city of Aleppo and an Egyptian mother from the city of Tanta in 1916. He lived his early life in Al-Farakh Street, located in the Jewish Quarter in the Al-Daher area in Cairo. He studied at the Lycee School and graduated from it in 1932. He then worked in a watch repair shop on Abdul Aziz Street in the Ataba area, then formed a singing group with both his brother and his sons. His uncle, and he gave a large number of shows on Emad El-Din Street until he was discovered by the artist Beshara Wakim and introduced him to the dancer Baa Ezz El-Din, which allowed him to work in several famous nightclubs in Cairo, such as the Aerozna and the Oberge. Director Hassan Al-Imam also introduced him to the cinema after seeing him in one of the artistic performances through the movie (The Six Goblins) in 1947, and he made more than twenty films until the early fifties, the most important of which were: (Amber, My eyes are full of joy, it is lawful for you, on the eve of Eid. He died in 1952 at the age of 36.
