A Greek/Egyptian composer, whose real name is (Andre Anagnostos). He was born in Greece in 1908. He lived most of his life in Egypt and worked as a composer for Egyptian films, where he composed music for the films (The Curlew’s Prayer, The River of Love, Sunset and Sunrise, The Thief and the Dogs, The Second Man). The number of films for which he composed music reached 61. He was accredited as a composer on the Egyptian radio. In addition to cinema, he worked as a music arranger with a large number of singers, including Umm Kulthum, Muhammad Abdel Wahab, and Fayza Ahmed. He died following an altercation in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, in 1971.
