An Egyptian director who excelled in action films. He was born in 1940 in Cairo. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema in 1982, Department of Directing. Immediately after his graduation, he worked as an assistant with major directors in Egypt, including Salah Abu Seif, Niazi Mostafa, and Hossam El Din Mostafa.
Ibrahim Afifi has directed 12 films, including, but not limited to, “The Old Man and the Thug” starring Madiha Kamel and Kamal El-Shennawy, “Gypsy” starring Fifi Abdo, Mohy Ismail... and others.
He died at the age of 79, today, Sunday, August 12, 2018, at his home after a long struggle with illness.
