The Immortal Sergeant, is a 2014 Syrian movie, directed by Ziad Kalthoum. with a runtime of 75 minutes.
The Immortal Sergeant is a Syrian documentary in which the filmmaker, a sergeant by military rank, finds himself recalled to service as revolution erupts across his country. Shuttling between his military duties and his civilian life in the heart of Damascus — where he works as assistant director to his friend, filmmaker Mohammed Malas — he picks up a camera to make sense of this schizophrenic existence. What begins as a behind-the-scenes record of Malas's film ultimately evolves into something far more expansive: a searching personal document about identity, loyalty, and what it means to inhabit two worlds at once during wartime.
