Under the Same Sun is a Palestinian-Israeli drama directed by Sameh Zoabi and produced by Academy Award-nominated Israeli producer Amir Harel. Set in a near future that looks back on how peace was achieved between Israel and Palestine in 2013, the film follows a Palestinian and an Israeli businessman who join forces to launch a solar energy company. Both men face fierce opposition from within their own families and communities, where cooperation with the other side is seen as betrayal. In a final act of defiance, they turn to a Facebook campaign to win popular support — a hopeful argument that shared economic vision and human connection can outlast political division.
