Overview

طمبولا (Tambula) is an Egyptian comedy film featuring the scheming Tambula Al-Far, proprietor of a store that sells everything imaginable, and a master swindler who runs his cons alongside his wife Marzouqa under the protection of the corrupt police Colonel Farid. His rivalry with the shopkeeper Ezzat leads to a battle of wits that ruins Ezzat — until a new, incorruptible police leadership arrives and dismantles the whole corrupt network. Tambula is ultimately arrested on the day of his son's circumcision celebration, a comic comeuppance that exposes the fragile foundations of petty corruption in Egyptian society.
