Overview

Salam Ghourba (Farewell Exile) is a Moroccan drama film that follows Fatima, a woman living in a poor neighborhood of Casablanca, as she waits anxiously for word from her husband, who has emigrated abroad. Her only hope is a set of immigration papers that could finally open the door to a better life for her and their son Mohammed. The film is a quietly powerful portrait of separation and longing — capturing the emotional toll of migration not just on those who leave, but on those left behind, suspended between a present that offers little and a future that keeps them waiting.
