Overview

Lahnech is a raucous Moroccan comedy from director Driss Mrini. Farid is a perennial bachelor living with his mother in the medina, scraping by through an audacious scam — impersonating a police officer to extort local vendors and small shopkeepers. Oblivious to the fact that the real police have him under surveillance and suspect him of links to an organized crime network, Farid continues his daily charade until Officer Bouchra is deployed to get close to him and gather intelligence firsthand. The film was a major box-office hit in Morocco, showcasing a talented ensemble of Moroccan cinema stars.
