Zero is a Moroccan drama following a police officer in his mid-thirties as he patrols the streets of Casablanca in a state of growing disillusionment. Surrounded by pervasive corruption and colleagues who have long made their peace with a broken system, Zero finds himself adrift — consumed by a sense of futility that shadows every step he takes through the city. The film is a brooding character study of a man struggling to hold onto his integrity when everything around him suggests that doing so is pointless, painting a bleak but compelling portrait of moral isolation in an urban landscape.
ZERO is a Moroccan film written and directed by Nour-Eddine Lakhmari and produced by Timlif Productions, released on December 19, 2012, in Morocco. The film was a box office success in Morocco. It was screened at a number of international film festivals, and took away the Grand Prize at the Tangier National Film Festival, among other prizes.
