Overview
Hostage of Time is a Lebanese documentary drama set in the aftermath of the 1993 Israeli military campaign that razed fifty villages in south Lebanon and left half a million civilians displaced. Young doctor Leila returns to her home village to find it devastated, while many who fled to Beirut have chosen to remain in bombed-out buildings rather than return to the Israeli-occupied security zone in the south. Through Leila's relationships with her family and the women and children of the surrounding villages, the film gives voice to those who stayed behind, tracing their quiet determination to rebuild their homes and their lives amid the ruins of war.
