Women Beyond Borders is a documentary by celebrated director Jean Chamoun that chronicles the lives of Palestinian women who joined the resistance struggle for their homeland. The film centers on Kifah Afifi, a young resistance fighter who survived the 1982 Shatila massacre in Lebanon at just twelve years old. She recounts her involvement in fighting the Israeli occupation of South Lebanon throughout the 1990s and her imprisonment in the Khiam detention camp, run by Israel's auxiliary South Lebanon Army militia. A rare and moving record of women's courage in the face of occupation, the film explores sacrifice, survival, and the personal cost of political resistance in the Arab world.
