Waiting for Farajallah, is a 2019 Palestinian movie, directed by Nidal Badarny, and starring Mahmud Abu-Jazi, Ibrahem Naamneh, Edad Seh. with a runtime of 56 minutes.
Waiting for Farajallah (Naterin Farajallah) is a Palestinian documentary that takes us behind the scenes of a production of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, performed by young Palestinians from the 48 territories. As the film introduces us one by one to the director, the actors, and other ordinary people around the production, striking parallels emerge between Beckett's themes of endless waiting and the lived reality of its cast. Each person is waiting for something — a construction permit, better work conditions, a breakthrough that may never come. Like Godot, the Faraj Allah (divine relief) they await is uncertain and perhaps perpetually deferred. The film is both a sharp political statement and a quietly moving portrait of persistence in constrained lives.
