Overview

The Stranger is a Syrian drama set in a small village in the occupied Golan Heights, where a desperate, unlicensed doctor is drifting through a deep existential crisis, uncertain of his purpose and place in a land defined by occupation and unresolved identity. His stagnant existence is upended when he encounters a man gravely wounded in the Syrian war, a stranger whose arrival forces the doctor out of his paralysis. In defying his community's expectations during a time of national emergency, the doctor embarks on a journey that challenges everything he believed about his own limits and loyalties — and leads him, for the first time, toward a destiny he chooses for himself.
