Mirrors of Diaspora is a documentary that follows seven Iraqi artists who have lived in exile for nearly half a century, reuniting their stories on the fifteenth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. From their graduation from art school in the 1970s through their years as street artists in the piazzas of Rome and Florence to achieving international renown, the film traces the full arc of lives shaped by displacement. It poses a timely central question: what does it cost a person to spend most of their life far from home? A deeply humane portrait made more urgent by today's global migration crisis.
